Jafra Cosmetics International, a California-based direct selling company, has announced plans to expand its international presence significantly. The company’s aim is to open a new market annually, focusing on Asia, Latin America and Eastern Europe.
Jafra started to expand internationally in 2008 when the company reentered the beauty market in Brazil, the world’s third largest beauty after the US and Japan. “Initial growth has already been significant. After the first year, the number of Jafra consultants in Brazil had tripled,” said the company in a release.
Another priority market for Jafra is India. On October 18th, Jafra Ruchi Cosmetics India, a joint venture between the Ruchi Group and Vorwerk Group, the parent company of Jafra Cosmetics International, commenced operations in New Delhi. Jafra begun business in India with 53 of its best selling products selected specifically for the India market.
“With growth from our existing markets and new business generated from future markets in Asia, Latin America and Eastern Europe, Jafra is poised to reach its goal of becoming a billion dollar company by 2014,” said Friedrich Kroos, Jafra president and chief executive officer.
