French manufacturer of cosmetics ingredients Soliance and British perfumer CPL Aromas have joint their respective technical know-how to fight the main disadvantage of self-tanning products: the odour caused by the molecules generated by the dihydroxyacetone (DHA) reaction with the amino acids in the dead layer on the skin surface during tanning process.
The result of this exclusive partnership is the Vegetan FL Creation, an innovative solution to specifically cover odours generated by DHA.
“The odor-causing molecules were identified by thermal desorption and then neutralized specifically with the Aromaguard technology,” explained Soliance in a release.
The Vegetan FL Creation thus consists in a subtle blend of Soliance’s liquid DHA with the Aromaguard fragrance, an agro-surfactant (APP) and solubilizers, to create a premix: ready to use, stable and that can even be formulated in cold phase.
“Tested on 12 volunteers, Vegetan FL Creation showed the same coloration performance as DHA alone and 100% of the testers noticed the absence of unpleasant smell,” states Soliance.
