With OBO, the perfume can be worn, in every meaning of the word. OBO is a pearl, containing 3 ml of fragrance, worn on the wrist or on the chest as part of a bracelet or a necklace. Simply grasped with the fingertips, detached from its magnetized piece of jewellery and pressed across the skin, it slides on the body to release the perfume. It allows perfuming oneself at any time, up to 20-25 applications on the skin, that’s the Fragrance Wear concept invented by the brand.
For its launch, OBO is offering three fragrances created by Anne-Sophie Behaghel and Amélie Bourgeois, from the fragrance agency Flair. The three fragrances mark three times of day: Symmetry, Solar Epilogue, 23: 58.
The bracelet with three pearls is sold 75 euros, the pendant with three pearls is sold 60 euros, and each pearl is sold 8 euros. Thanks to the relatively low cost of the pearl, the consumer can change the fragrances to suit its desires. This is a totally new way to use perfumes that could be created by this type of product.
OBO is carried by a group of designers, engineers and perfumers, in partnership with EATS, a kind of garden centre for innovators integrated to the Aesthete agency, led by Thierry de Baschmakoff, who aims to support young designers.
First challenge the OBO team: finding the necessary funding for the brand’s development. As a first step, a crowdfunding campaign was launched through Indiegogo.
