For their 2024 NPD collection, Meiyume leveraged their in-house Beauty Intelligence Platform (BIP) to analyse current and emerging trends in beauty formulations and packaging – including the ingredients that consumers are now trusting or the claims that are gaining ground in the beauty space.

The cutting-edge technology that combines Machine Learning (ML), AI tools and data science drove the development of four new collections, localised and innovated mainly with the needs of the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region, with lighter textures and Asian-origin active ingredients. Nevertheless, as the world of beauty is ever-inspired by varied domains, as a premier custom-made beauty solution provider, Meiyume is able to modify the 2024 NPD collection to suit the unique needs of brands and different regions.

Skintelligent: gentle and effective solutions for delicate skin

With five SKUs for facial and baby care, the Skintelligent line takes inspiration from the skinmunity trend. It targets younger consumers with sensitive and acne-prone skin, from children and late teens to 30s and over, mostly informed and health-conscious skin care urban shopper with middle income.

The range of gentle and effective products was designed to nurture and fortify the skin’s protective barrier, allowing it to thrive and flourish even in the face of environmental aggressors and hectic lifestyles.

The Skintelligent line includes: a lightweight non-comedogenic Barrier+ Gel Cream helps restores and strengthens the barrier function of all skin types; a Barrier+Moisture Mousse that helps to rebalance skin microbiome, repair the skin barrier and calm inflamed skin; the pH Balanced Super Serum to restore facial radiance; the Baby Super Gentle Top to Toe Wash, a bubbled formula with pre/probiotics that gently cleanses without drying or irritating the sensitive baby skin; and the Baby Super Soft Lotion that softens and soothes sensitive baby skin with pre/probiotics and oat.

The line was formulated using ingredients increasingly popular within the target population, including ectoine, peptides, phytosphingosine or centella asiatica (cica).

VersaBella: a minimalist skincare range for transformative results

Getting inspiration from the skinimalism trend, the seven SKUs unisex range addresses younger consumers who crave for quick and effective multifunctional solutions that prioritize hybrid colour, sun protection, and a natural finishing touch. It mostly targets urban and digital savvy females (late teens to middle-age) with middle income.

Each product in this clean beauty range was meticulously formulated to provide multiple skin benefits. The line includes: an Oil-to-Foam Total Cleanser; a Dream Touch Mesh Cushion SPF50 ++++; a Sun Protect Mist SPF50 ++++; a 3in1 Face Colour Velvet; a TrueGlow Priming Serum; and a Shield and Glow Tinted Veil SPF50++++.

According to Meiyume’s data, the skinimalism trend, which was prominent from 2021 to 2023, continues to evolve. This trend now emphasizes the use of key ingredients such as vitamin E, niacinamide, squalane, and retinol.

Blue Biotech: harnessing the power of the sea

The Blue Biotech skin and personal care collection celebrates the beauty and vitality found in marine ecosystems, highlighting the potential of marine-based actives to deliver effective and sustainable skincare solutions.

The three SKUs of the Blue Biotech line (Hydra Gel Moisturizer; Brightening Serum; Brightening Body Serum) do not only enhance the skin but also protect the ocean’s delicate balance.

VitaTress, a haircare range for Gen Z and young adults

Targeting premature aging and greying hair, VitaTress enhances scalp health and amplifies hair volume. Inspired by nature’s stones, its sophisticated packaging reflects sustainability. Combining anti-aging technology with botanical extracts, the 6 SKUs line (Fortifying shampoo & conditioner; Revive Ampoule for Hair Density; Aqua Revive Treatment; Pre-shampoo Clay Scalp Recovery Mask; Gray Away Hair Serum) nourishes and revitalizes hair from within.

The line leverages hero ingredients such as peptides, AHA/BHA, ginseng, bamboo charcoal, caffeine, green tea, that have been recently booming in haircare.

The four new collections are available for customisation and they are planned to be launched at Meiyume’s private event called "Your Beauty Boost: New Ideas, Your Success" from 31st July to 1st August 2024 at their Jakarta, Indonesia manufacturing plant.

Meiyume plans to launch another new set of collections from their UK plant by the end of this year, with the debut scheduled at Cosmoprof Asia in their booth.
