Since the start of the pandemic, makeup sales have suffered, a victim of reduced social interactions, the wearing of masks and the craze for natural skin tone.

Going au naturel may be more on trend than ever due to the pandemic, but that can still take some confidence when going face to face with colleagues on video calls. The solution proposed by L’Oréal Paris is a 100% virtual digital makeup.

Actually, since early 2020, the coronavirus pandemic has completely changed the way people consume, communicate and even work, with the cameras of our smartphones, tablets or computers now switched on more than ever.

L’Oréal Paris’ "Signature Faces" is a line of 10 virtual makeup products on three different themes (Volumising Capsules, Plump Shot, Fire Match), allowing users to apply virtual makeup for their work calls or online parties in just a few clicks. The collection comes from the technology developed by the augmented reality specialist ModiFace, acquired by L’Oréal in 2018.

Those interested can try out this new beauty experience on Snapchat, Instagram, Google Duo, Skype, Zoom and Google Hangouts, after installing the software and following a few set-up steps for their platform of choice.
