The founder of Silab died on October 10, 2024, at the age of 93, announced the company he founded in 1984.

After spending some twenty years with the Blédina group, Jean Paufique, who was born in Nedde in the heart of the Limousin region, in the center of France, created Silab (Société Industrielle Limousine d’Application Biologique) at the age of 53.

He surrounded himself with a small team and set himself the mission of valorizing animal blood for pharmaceutical and cosmetic applications. In 1991, however, Mr. Paufique, as a true visionary, made a decisive shift by choosing to focus exclusively on plant-based raw materials: the company’s success was launched.

A bold man and builder, recognized for his pioneering and combative spirit, he chose a governance model based on independence and self-financing. He was made a Chevalier de la Légion d’Honneur in 2012. Thanks to the commitment of its founder, Silab has become a world leader in the engineering of natural active ingredients.

Jean Paufique was above all a man with strong human and ethical values, close to his collaborators. Over the years, he instilled his dynamism and convictions in all his teams, building a committed company, dedicated to innovation. All employees join his family in their grief,” said the company in a statement.

As he had wished, the implementation of a Supervisory Board and a Management Board ensures that the Silab adventure continues on the road to success. The company remains independent and family-owned and will carry on managing its operations and development.
