Fragrance house Iberchem, a subsidiary of Croda International, has announced the launch of its new facility in Campinas, Brazil.
The new centre, which covers more than 4,500 square metres, includes a production plant, a creative centre and sampling labs, as well as a commercial office. Iberchem’s activity in Brazil will cover all fragrance applications including fine fragrances, personal care, home care and air care.
To lead the local team in Brazil, Iberchem recruited Ms. Thaissa Soares, who was until recently Operation Director at Drom Fragrances (now Givaudan). Ms. Soares has over 18 years of experience in a managing role, seven of which have been in the fragrance industry.
“Iberchem has seen the value of expanding into the Brazilian market for many years and, with Croda’s existing presence in the country, now seemed like the perfect time. I expect this new centre to become one of our most successful projects in recent years, considering the experience of the team we have recruited, Croda’s existing activity and the market’s growth potential,” said José Balibrea, Managing Director of the Iberchem Group.
David Shannon, President Consumer Care at Croda added: “We are delighted to support Iberchem’s expansion in Brazil, one of the world’s leading fragrance and flavours markets. With this investment we will be able to provide customers in the Latin American region with a full-service formulation offer that includes Iberchem’s innovative and on-trend fragrances.”
Iberchem Brazil is the company’s third production centre in Latin America and the Group’s 24th facility globally. This investment is part of an ambitious growth strategy and follows the acquisition of French fragrance house Parfex in April 2021.
