The Agence Pierre Lelong just informed its customers that, effective January 1st, 2009 it will “no longer sell the various types of MeadWestvaco cardboards, including the Crescendo line, the high-end cardboard designed for luxury goods. Indeed, the MeadWestvaco group expressed the will to supply European markets direct from its sales office in Vienna, Austria”.
A piece of news that dropped as a bombshell within the European paper and cardboard industry, since the partnership between the two companies seemed to be strong. The Agence Pierre Lelong made heavy investments in time and sales efforts during the latest years in order to enable the U.S. paper producer to conquer the business of luxury in Europe.
“However, we have already selected a new supplier to replace them,” the Agence Pierre Lelong states.
