Symrise has complemented its portfolio of preservatives with Symocide PS®, a new raw material, a mixture of phenoxyethanol, decylene glycol and of 1,2 hexanediol, three molecules whose antibacterial activity has been known for several years.
The great interest of Symocide PS® lies in its composition, which is also patented, and enables to meet the current demand for alternatives to parabens and formaldehyde precursors. With a broad spectrum of activity, it acts against bacteria, yeasts, moulds and fungi with a use percentage ranging between 1 and 4%.
Symocide PS® is compliant with European, Japanese and American regulations. It can be used in both leave-on and rinse-off products.
