When Patrick Morel in 2007 took control of the firm, its overall situation was good. "I must say that the work which had been accomplished over the years by my predecessors, he explains, enabled to lay the foundations for a very healthy business industrially speaking but also and above all, in terms of human beings". For Patrick Morel, former CEO of Berlitz it is a bit like a baptism of fire! "It’s true, he admits, this business was new to me but I was quickly seduced." Because the potential was there! Four years later, Sincoplas is more than ever in motion.
First project, which is about to be completed, find new markets to make for the reduction of technical parts. To complement its business in the beauty sector, Sincoplas focuses both on the Wine and Spirits industry and on medical packaging. "You could say that this work is starting to take shape, explains Patrice Lhomme, Commercial Director. Of the eight million euros in turnover that we will achieve this year, it is by far the Make-Up and Perfume sectors that represent the biggest share of our activity (with nearly 80%). But the Medical and Wine and Spirits sectors are also slightly progressing."
Quality, Productivity, Communication and Sustainable Development
Second project, also completed, a good control of production costs. "This will have taken us some time, emphasises Patrick Morel, but now we have reached a perfect balance." A key project in the context of a continuous improvement of the company’s competitiveness.
Finally, the third project, which is to constantly work on improving relationships within the company with, as a main tool, communication: more horizontal communication and exchanges between the staff and services - a greater and shared awareness of a common goal: ensure the sustainability of the company by meeting the needs of customers and through a spirit of innovation. "This last one, stresses Patrick Morel, is obviously a never ending project, so essential and rewarding. And it’s one of the main advantages of relatively small structures like ours."
In parallel with these projects, Sincoplas has carried out its carbon footprint to best measure its impact on the environment and take appropriate action to limit its emissions.
23 injection moulding machines among which 22 of 50 to 800 tons of closing force and four bi-injection, for a hundred employees, Sincoplas converts each year some 320 tons of plastic material.
Concerning recent launches to which the French firm took a part, to note the presentation box for the fragrance Alien "Décor Oriental" by Thierry Mugler. With its base composed of a transparent ABS made insert to sustain the deformation due to the shape of the bottle and block the bottle appropriately, this box has a lid made of crystal PMMA and is decorated by hot stamping.
Among the latest developments: a Surlyn made jar with very thick walls designed for the brand Guinot, finally, a first achievement for the Perrier Jouet brand: a pomponne base over-moulded in a material giving the appearance of soft chalk.
