Pitti Fragranze, the Pitti Immagine fair-event dedicated to niche perfumery, which gathered 211 exhibitors on 13-15 September 2013 in Florence, Italy, closed with excellent attendance figures. According to the organisers, the show welcomed about 3,000 visitors, a rise of 10% compared to the 2,730 in September 2012.

While the number of Italian buyers remained at the same levels recorded in 2012, most of the growth came from the international attendance. “There was a total of 1,680 buyers, with foreign buyers rising by 55%, making a total of around 460,” said the organisers.

Among foreign buyers, France held the top position (+ 25%), whilst the number of buyers from the United States, Russia and Spain doubled. The number of buyers from Germany grew by 21%, those from the United Kingdom by 37%, while buyers of the Netherlands grew by 66% and those from Switzerland by 11%.

Several buyers also came from Ukraine, Lithuania, Estonia, Armenia, Kazakhstan, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait, as well as the main markets of South America, South Africa and Australia.

Pitti Fragranze is becoming an increasingly international event ”, says Agostino Poletto, deputy general manager of Pitti Immagine, “in terms of the brands taking part at the Stazione Leopolda [1], as well as the attendance of buyers from all over the world.
