The 10th edition of Aerosol & Dispensing Forum and the 12th edition of PCD (Packaging of Perfumes, Cosmetics & Design), which were held on the 3-4 February 2016 at the Espace Champerret in Paris, welcolmed 6,500 participants, an increase of 20% compared with last year, according to the organisers.
The PCD Awards ceremony, chaired by Alain Béthune and Michel Dupuis, packaging experts, and co-moderated by Mirabelle Belloir, journalist, began with a keynote by Philippe Thuvien, Packaging & Development Director, L’Oréal, on : « Packaging is ever more strategic for our companies ».
Seven Awards and 11 diplomas were given in the categories: Personal care - Hair Care - Skincare - Make-Up - Men’s Fragrance - Women’s Fragrance - Events.
And the winners for 2016 are:
Personal Care Category
Deoz, L’Oréal - Trophy awarded to Nicolas Albisetti, Packaging Engineer; Zohra Moudjahed, Personal Care Deodorants Laboratory Manager; Laure Thiébaut, Packaging Inno Manager, L’Oréal.
The Jury appreciated this true innovation in terms of spray deodorant. Deoz entailed no fewer than 11 patents to offer this new spray performance inspired by Dyson fans.
Hair Care Category
Fusio-Dose, Kerastase - Trophy awarded to Mathilde Gatepin, Packaging Engineer, and Laurence Foucher, Development Engineer, L’Oréal.
The Jury welcomed the 72% reduction of the pack, the increase in the number of products per pallet, the 25% increase in recyclability and the ergonomics of this hair care product for hair professionals.
Skincare - Sunscreen Category
Sandproof Ideal Soleil Bronze, Vichy Laboratoires - Trophy awarded to François Rival, Packaging Engineer, Nur Himawan Abdillah, Development Engineer, Antoine Lebrun, Functional Design Engineer, Jean Marc Lebrand, Packaging Innovation Engineer
The Jury stressed the two patents underpinning this innovative, ergonomic, cap-free, « Sandproof » sunscreen packaging.
Make-Up Category
Teint Miracle, Lancôme - Trophy awarded to Gilles Coatrieux, Packaging Manager, and Céline Tassaneau-Le Cercle, Development Engineer, L’Oréal
The Jury appreciated the quality of the packaging and the supply chain innovation with the closed container insert
Men’s Fragrance Category
The Scent, Hugo Boss - Trophy awarded to Dr Simon Elmer, R&D Section Head, Procter & Gamble.
The Jury appreciated the quality of the packaging and the selective metalization for this fragrance.
Women’s Fragrance Category
Alaïa Paris, Alaïa - Trophy awarded to Marie Binois, Product Manager, Beauté Prestige International, and Emilie Lejeune, Project Manager, Shiseido
The Jury appreciated the technical challenge involved in making the glass, the gestures for application and perceived quality of this achievement.
