Julie Cartigny, show manager of Creative Beauty Paris

Premium Beauty News - The acquisition of Itec by Informa, last year, seems to have marked a strategic turnaround with both the increased number of complementary events to the shows, and the identity of each of the Beyond Beauty Paris components being put forward. A new start?

Julie Cartigny - The acquisition by the Informa group is the recognition of the expertise of the Paris team which has been driving Beyond Beauty and its side events since 2002. This rapprochement enables to accompany the new growth dynamics that implies the creation of events and some acquisitions in all strong growing areas. We want to stay alongside Beauty industry leaders and continue to offer them efficient and profitable events.

Informa represents a portfolio of exhibitions and expertises the world over, with some of them in direct connection with our businesses: Vitafood in Geneva is close to Creative Beauty in the segment of health/beauty oriented ingredients, the World Anti Aging Congress, a world leading congress in Monaco targeting medicalized beauty, Datamonitor has developed its expertise as a research firm. All the offices around the world are at the service of our projects and of our will to be even more focused on ’beauty’ in the coming future.

Beyond Beauty remains the signature of all our initiatives and for more consistency and simplicity, we have strengthened the communication on each show Creative Beauty Paris, Spameeting Paris, Cosmeeting Paris...Paris has therefore found itself slightly shifted, but remains at the heart of our strategy.

Premium Beauty News - In this new context, how is positioned Creative Beauty Paris, the event dedicated to beauty suppliers?

Julie Cartigny - The 2012 edition promises to be very successful. To date, more than 92% of the total area is already booked, a 13% increase to compared to 2011 at the same time. With 13% more new exhibitors, we have noticed a significant increase of the Packaging sector, but also great enthusiasm from the ingredient sector, strongly represented on the BBLAB; the private label sector is not left out since we will be also welcoming this year new international players.

With 71% of loyal exhibitors from one edition to the other, Creative Beauty remains a major business event where many take advantage of this autumn appointment to present their new products and innovations. We propose in autumn the largest European appointment for beauty suppliers.

The complementarity of the three shows that constitute Beyond Beauty is a differentiating point from other events in the profession, since our exhibitors are just as interested in meeting international decision makers (marketing & purchase) from the distribution sector, than they are in meeting the CEOs of brands attending Cosmeeting Paris.

Premium Beauty News - What will be the novelties and main highlights of the forthcoming Creative Beauty Paris?

Julie Cartigny - Our goal is to rally the whole perfume and cosmetic industry The numerous actions implemented will guarantee a significant increase in the attendance of foreign visitors. (North Africa, UAE, ...)

Through their synergy, the three Beyond Beauty events, have been attracting for the past two editions, decision makers from large groups and brands operating in the ready to wear but also luxury or lingerie industry which are diversifying for most of them in cosmetics, perfumes, make-up, by developing in particular "Capsule" collections or simply wishing to enrich their offer to female and male consumers! Some brands will develop new market segments: source of inspiration, search for "white labels", but also of different packaging solutions Fashion also visits us to find solutions during the Beauty Week!

The BBLab, the area to stage and reflect on beauty trends will celebrate its 10th anniversary centred on the theme "A Better World." Today there is a desire for progress in all areas of cosmetics. "Look good, feel good and do good". True mirror of tomorrow’s cosmetic trends the BBLab is the show’s dedicated area of amazement.

Premium Beauty News - How do you ensure the consistency of this Beauty Week - which consists of three shows, Creative Beauty Paris, Cosmeeting Paris and Spameeting Paris - with exhibitors and visitors with so different concerns in mind?

Julie Cartigny - The Beauty Week represents a high point in the agenda of the beauty industry, some initiatives at the heart of the three specialised shows but also in parallel with several high-level Summits/Conferences which are also represent bridges between each exhibition.

The European Spa Summit will bring together international experts from the wellness/spa market, the Natural Beauty Summit Europe will take place in a completely revisited 2012 edition, but also an exceptional cycle of conferences called ’Beyond Beauty Trends’ who will give the floor to 23 trend agencies and beauty experts and dozens of other conferences. In total the Paris event will gather more than a hundred speakers and experts from around the world to celebrate together our tenth anniversary.

The Beauty Week is also a unique collaboration with the ’Victoires de la Beauté’ which partner with our ’emerging’ brand award and will announce the Beauty Challenger Awards 2012 ’Grand Prix’. Finally we are announcing a fine update of our Innovation Awards, which have become the European Beauty Innovation Awards (EBIA 2012) with the arrival of four new countries alongside Germany to evaluate the confirmed talents of the European selective.
