The 5th edition of Esxence, the event dedicated to “artistic perfumery”, which was held from March 21 to 24 in Milan, Italy, recorded a total 5.815 attendees, including 65% of international visitors. “The stay of each visitor has been in average not less that two days, confirming the interest both for the Expo area, and therefore for the direct contacts among buyers and retailers and the brands, and for the rich events and meeting calendar,” claim the organisers.

Special events and guests including the AFM Atelier Fragranze Milano, Mouillettes & Co, Osmotheque and the Museo di Officina Profumo-Farmaceutica di Santa Maria Novella, allowed visitors to discover essences, raw materials, tools and technologies linked to artistic fragrances. Works of designer Pierre Dinand were also displayed to illustrate the importance of perfume bottles.

The Scent of Esxence

Etoilegance, by Alexander Lee won the contest organised to celebrate this 5th edition, and was named “official fragrance of the event”. Chosen among the five finalists by the visitors of the fair, Etoilegance is features fruity and oriental notes, based on the use of Sarcocaulon Mossamedensis, a Namibia plant only recently appeared in the perfumer’s palette and already known as Bushman Candle for the bright light when the stems burn.

Cristiano Canali receives the Critics Choice Award from Maurizio Cavezzali

Cristiano Canali has received the Critics Choice Award for Magnolia Esxentialis while Sarah Grivot, with the perfume Stella, has won the yearned the Noses Choice Award.
