Skincare brand CeraVe is focusing on diabetes with its latest launch. The L’Oréal-owned label has unveiled a ‘Diabetics’ Dry Skin Relief’ line, designed to combat the issues that often arise as a side effect of the condition.

The series will comprise a Moisturizing Cream, a Hand and Foot Cream and a Cleansing Wash. The three of them have been created to tackle skin itchiness, dryness, cracking and bruising - all of which can be caused by diabetes.

CeraVe’s new line uses a combination of three essential ceramides, the antioxidant-rich bilberry and urea to soothe the skin and deliver long-lasting hydration.

"We know that people with diabetes have unique skincare concerns and these new products demonstrate our commitment to providing diabetes sufferers with affordable and therapeutic skincare offerings," said Derrick Booker, Vice President of Marketing at CeraVe, in a statement.

Diabetes currently affects 29 million adults across the US, according to a National Health Interview Survey - a figure that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention predicts could rise to one-in-three adults by 2050.

Since being founded in 2005, CeraVe has carved out a reputation for science-forward dermatological solutions spanning cleansers, moisturizers and sunscreens. It was acquired by L’Oréal in 2017. CeraVe products are available at Amazon and mass retailers nationwide.
