In the wake of its strategic alliance with Clariant, a world leader in specialty chemicals based in Muttenz, Switzerland, Brazilian company Beraca is strengthening its international development. As of April 1, 2016, CRM International - a Clariant Group company - will distribute Beraca’s natural cosmetic ingredients from the Amazon Rainforest in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

Beraca’s ingredients will be a perfect complement to Clariant’s Plantasens range of natural ingredients, which includes plant-based actives, multi-functional emulsifiers, and a broad selection of emollients, ranging from vegetable oils and natural butters to alternatives to silicones, petrolatum and lanolin.

The addition of Beraca’s world-wide known portfolio of active performance systems, fixed and essential oils, clays, butters and bioscrubs - sustainably harvested from Brazilian biomes - will give customers in the region access to a complete portfolio of natural ingredients to support their development of sustainable formulations for the cosmetics and personal care markets,” said Clariant in a release.

Beraca’s portfolio mainly comprises natural oils and butters from the Amazonian region, such as Açai, Brazil Nut and Cupuaçu butter and also includes natural active ingredients for skin and hair.

This is an exciting step in our new alliance with Clariant. Beraca has long been committed to social and environmental sustainability, and to preserving biodiversity, and we have received several awards in recognition of this. We are pleased to support Clariant’s customers in Germany, Austria and Switzerland with access to a now broader portfolio of such sustainable innovations,” commented Daniel Sabará, CEO of Beraca.
