Committed for two years with an eco-active strategy focusing, in particular, on RPET, French specialist of plastic injection VPI, was chosen by Guerlain to produce the holders of its makeup godets of the brand’s in-store displays.

According to VPI, RPET (recycled polyethylene terephthalate), the material used in that case, is a key element of this development. Obtained from the collection and recycling of household products, RPET has the advantage to be naturally shiny, once transformed, and to feature aesthetic qualities matching with the expectations of leading cosmetic companies.

The story between RPET and VPI began three years ago, with the Mouvement Infini project, which has brought together different trade partners from the packaging sector, and more recently with Or infini, the Mouvement’s latest development. VPI thus focused on the transformation of RPET, betting of its three main assets: its economical attractiveness, its appealing aesthetic for the industry, and eventually, its carbon footprint reduced to times," explains the French company in a statement.

A know-how that perfectly matched Guerlain’s needs, which was looking for an environmentally friendly solution to replace the godet holders of its makeup displays. As these elements are discarded and replaced after use, the famous French brand wanted a material greener than conventional plastic.

After some adjustments, VPI successfully found the techniques enabling to control the behaviour of RPET and achieving the shapes Guerlain desired.

VPI adds this technology can also be adapted to other applications, such as collars or closures.
