The next edition of the TFWA World Exhibition, will take place in the Palais des Festivals in Cannes, France, on 20-25 October 2013, in a bright economic context. “Global inflight duty free and travel retail sales are growing at the rate of around 5% a year and industry experts believe there is excellent potential for future growth,” says Thom Rankin, Vice President Conferences and Research at the Tax Free World Association (TFWA).
According to the organisers, a total of 441 stands have been confirmed, including 46 exhibitors that are either new to the forum, such as Burberry Fragrances, or returning after a short break. Fragrances and cosmetics remain the largest sector (27%), followed by wines and spirits companies (21%), fashion and accessories (18%), jewellery and watches (12%), confectionery and fine food (10%), and electronics suppliers (2%).
The organisers also forecast an increase in the number of visitors. In 2012, TFWA World Exhibition welcomed 6,074 delegates from 2,877 companies; +4% more visitors than attended the exhibition in 2011.
The trade floor will open from 11.30 on Monday until 18.00, 09.00-18.00. Tuesday through Thursday, and 09.00-12.00 on Friday 25th October.
