Shiseido Americas is creating a new entity to gather its U.S. prestige businesses, including Laura Mercier, the Shiseido brand, and various designer fragrance brands. Named Beauty Prestige Group, the newly-created entity will be headed by ex-LVMH Jean-Marc Plisson. NARS and Bare Escentuals, which are key pillars of the company’s prestige portfolio, will continue to operate separately.

As President of the Beauty Prestige Group, Mr. Plisson will work collaboratively with the relevant business leaders and their teams to capitalize on growth opportunities while maintaining the unique positioning that is key to each brand’s success.

Specifically, his priorities for the group will focus on integrating and growing the Dolce & Gabbana business, taking the Shiseido brand in the U.S. to the next level of success, and defining and implementing a worldwide growth strategy for Laura Mercier,” explains the subsidiary of the Tokyo based cosmetics giant.

Jean-Marc Plisson brings more than 20 years of experience in the luxury cosmetics industry. As Global CEO of Fresh Inc., an LVMH luxury skincare and fragrance brand, he was responsible for driving the brand’s strategy and development on a global scale and transforming Fresh into a #1 skincare brand. Mr. Plisson has held numerous executive roles at LVMH, serving as COO and CFO for a number of LVMH luxury perfume and cosmetic brands, including Dior, Givenchy, Guerlain and Aqua Di Parma.

He will report to Marc Rey, President & CEO, Shiseido Americas.
