The manufacturer of high-end shopping bags and boxes has partnered with Climate Partner - one of the world’s leading climate protection consultancy firms - to propose a climate-neutral packaging offering.

« Procos stands for sustainable efficiency and innovative packaging concepts. For us sustainability is of utmost importance and we have defined actively contributing to energy and climate protection as one of our long-term goals », explains Leander Kritikos, CEO of Procos.

The company, which is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, has established itself as one of the key players in luxury markets with complete packaging ranges for its customers in the fashion, perfumery and cosmetics, decoration, jewellery, wine and spirits industries. For nearly 10 years, Procos has been working at reducing the environmental impact of its products, including through FSC®-certified papers and soy-based inks and water-based glue. In 2008, Procos produced its first shopping bag made from paper with 60% recycled fibre and 40% FSC® Mix certified fibre.

Compensate CO2 emissions

Despite his efforts, Procos believes that it is not possible “to avoid CO2 emissions in the production process completely.” In order to neutralise these residual emissions, Procos offers its customers the possibility to select carbon-neutral printing. When a client chooses this option, Procos will calculate its CO2 value and make a corresponding donation to an environmental protection project to compensate for these emissions

Procos offers all its customers the opportunity to communicate in a transparent way about sustainable development actions. The emission values are calculated per print order and a compensation amount is specified. The offset amount corresponds to approximately 1.5% to 3.0% of the order value and is invested in a climate protection project of your choice.
