According to the organisers, over 3000 participants from 56 countries attended the 9th edition of PCD (Packaging for Perfumes, Cosmetics & Design) and the 7th edition of ADF (Aerosol & Dispensing Technologies Forum), which were held conjointly on the 6th and 7th February 2013 at the Espace Champerret, in Paris.

They took stock of innovations with the 170 suppliers of packaging, dispensing systems, services and technologies.

As far as PCD was concerned, presentations on the 1st day took stock of bioplastics and renewable materials, market watch and patents for an innovation strategy, packaging innovations for beauty, care and make-up, the essential components of successful Brands. Sessions on the 2nd day addressed metals and metallic appearances, magnets and magnetic systems, finishing and accessories, and presenting boxes. The session on the impact of ICTs (Information and Communication Technologies) on business practices, making companies more nimble, elicited keen interest among experts.

Regarding ADF, the session on recent advances in aerosol techniques took stock of gaskets and polymer components, manufacturing line controls, induction as an alternative to water baths, and solutions for can customisation. The theme of varnishes highlighted new regulatory requirements with a view to finding an alternative to the use of BPAs. It was followed by a session on propellants. The second day focussed on prospects for the development of plastic aerosols, to boost their development on the market, and on foams and spray, taking stock of the most recent developments and research to limit their environmental impact.

Holding PCD at the same time as Aerosol & Dispensing Forum was particularly appreciated by brands which use dispensing technologies,” said the organisers who also announced that the next edition of PCD and ADF will be held on Wednesday 5th and Thursday 6th February, 2014, at the Espace Champerret, in Paris.
