Applicators appeared as one of the main area of innovations at the latest MakeUp in Paris tradeshow, which was held at the Carrousel du Louvre in Paris on 12-13 June 2014. Addressing this trend, Oeakbeauty presented a series of new applicators for lip-gloss and skincare products.
Soft and fluffy applicators
The German supplier of plastic and metal components for the cosmetics industry, who celebrated its 100th anniversary this year, developed a special fluffy version of its Full Lips and the Lipstick Applicator. “Extra-long flock fibres ensure a gentle and sensual application while at the same time having a greater reservoir function as regular flock fibres,” the company claims.
With its special shape and large application surface the Soft Lipstick Applicator enables a comfortable but defined application from the outer lip contour.
Thanks to its soft round forms, the Fluffy Full Lips Applicator is useful for different areas of application. While the thinner part is convenient for lip applications, the round tip is very suitable for eye shadow, skin treatment or concealer applications.
Antibacterial properties
At MakeUp in Paris, Oekabeauty also presented applicators with antibacterial and skin care properties. The antibacterial effect results from special zinc oxide modified and flocked on renewable cellulose through a patented method. The antibacterial effect does not diminish with time and the fibres show growth inhibition effects on microorganisms.
Furthermore, as zinc is known to be the co-factor in many enzymes being essential for skin regeneration, it can promote wound healing and the risks of irritations. “The applicators carrying such zinc oxide modified flocks therefore also offer a natural, gentle and soft care,” Oekabeauty says.
