The French fashion designer, Guillaume Henry - who left Nina Ricci in March - will rise to the challenge of helping LVMH relaunch Jean Patou, a fashion house founded in the 1910s. The designer will notably oversee the brand’s ready-to-wear and accessories.

The appointment of Guillaume Henry at the helm as creative director revealed by Women’s Wear Daily (WWD) on September 24 confirms the acquisition by LVMH of the legendary fashion house of the early 20th century unveiled last July by Fashion Network. The brand Jean Patou previously belonged to the British group Designer Parfums, which no longer mentions it on their website.

The first collection of clothing and accessories from Jean Patou could be shown during the second half of 2019. According to Women’s Wear Daily, Jean Patou will start out with a single Paris store and an e-store.

The Jean Patou Instagram account - although not yet verified - features three posts from Monday, September 24. The first confirms the nomination of Guillaume Henry as creative director, the second announces: "Jean Patou is back," and the third is a picture of Jean Patou in the 1930s.
