Aligned with this eco trend, Lipotec has developed ACTISCRUB™ physical exfoliants - a wide variety of natural-sourced scrubs that help remove dead cells and impurities from the surface of the skin to let the inner beauty arise.

Exfoliation has played a very important role in the eternal pursuit of having a perfect skin. It offers uncountable skin benefits in one action, providing radiance, smoothness and even skin tone as well as enhancing actives penetration, to name a few. The cell renewal cycle slows down with age, resulting in less radiance and a more wrinkled appearance of the skin. When this happens, a complementary exfoliation is needed to help stimulate the production of new cells.

This range of Lipotec’s natural sourced exfoliants is composed of renewable materials that may not be used by the food industry, like some fruit seeds or shells, and by extremely sustainable products such as cork. They are vegetable derived products free from additives, preservatives and pesticides.

To highlight a few of the initial six references launched:

ACTISCRUB™ cranberry seed consists of the seed of Vaccinium macrocarpon, a member of the family Ericaceae that is native to North America. The many natural attributes of the cranberry led it to be known as the “wonderberry”. Cranberry seeds, worthless for the food industry, can be used as a natural exfoliating ingredient. The seeds are prepared by isolating and then carefully milling them. This scrub offers a soft touch with comfortable massage to remove the dead cells at the surface of both the face and the body.
ACTISCRUB™ cork. Cork is the outer bark of the cork oak tree; the only tree whose bark regenerates. Its regular extraction is a fundamental contribution to the environmental, economic and social sustainability of the rural areas where the cork oak is grown. A surprising feature is its ability to absorb carbon dioxide (CO2). A stripped cork oak absorbs, on average, five times more CO2 than a whole cork oak. It is estimated that every year cork oak forests retain up to 14 million tons of CO2, a sizeable contribution to reducing greenhouse gas emissions, the main cause of climate change. ACTISCRUB™ cork has a moderate to high friction and provides a strong exfoliation for body, hands and feet.
The range also includes ACTISCRUB™ chardonnay seed, ACTISCRUB™ coconut shell, ACTISCRUB™ walnut shell and ACTISCRUB™ apple fiber.

Green alternative to microplastic polyethylene and polypropylene beads, this balanced range of natural particulates, grades and forms offers a multitude of functions and possibilities to the formulator, from the light abrasive effect of seeds to the more aggressive scrub qualities of shells and fibres, which fulfill trendy concepts such as natural, green and environmental-friendly. ACTISCRUB™ physical exfoliants has a big potential to inspire cosmetic brands to create their own, unique identity.
