BASF has named Mrs Piyada Charoensirisomboon (45) as Vice President, Global Development Personal Care at BASF, effective February 1, 2017. In this role, Mrs Charoensirisomboon will head up the global development of BASF’s Personal Care business.

Prior to this, Charoensirisomboon managed BASF’s Advanced Chemicals’ Innovation Campus Asia Pacific in Shanghai. She joined BASF in 2000 as a research fellow and has held various positions in marketing, research and development, and new business development. Born in Chon Buri, Thailand, she has a PhD from the Tokyo Institute of Technology, as well as a Master’s degree in engineering, and a Bachelor’s degree in industrial chemistry from the KMITL in Bangkok. Of the 17 years Charoensirisomboon has worked at BASF, eight were spent in Germany.

Mrs Piyada Charoensirisomboon succeeds Karlheinz Hill, who retired end of December last year, having been with the company for more than 30 years.

In addition, Mrs Lucilene Veira Nunes (35) was appointed BASF’s new Director Strategic Marketing for Personal Care Specialties Europe. In this role, she will report to Dirk Mampe, Vice President Business Management for Personal Care Specialties Europe.

Veira joined BASF in 2000 and has held various marketing positions throughout Brazil, England, Spain and Germany. Prior to her appointment, she headed Global Marketing for BASF’s Aroma Ingredients business.

Veira holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Mackenzie Presbyterian University in Brazil.
