U.S. supplier of cosmetics packaging and products, Topline Products Company Inc., recently announced the installation of a state-of-the-art blow moulding equipment at its new plant in Dundee, Michigan. This investment complements already existing capabilities in China.

The new equipment will enable Topline to produce bottles and other components for mascara and lip gloss colour cosmetics products, offering its international customers a North American base for product launches. Additional assets will operate decoration and automated wiper insertion functions. The Michigan plant already has the capability to manufacture caps, rods and wipers. After the colour cosmetics components are fabricated in Michigan, they will be shipped to Topline’s Reynosa, Mexico, plant for final assembly. Topline opened its Reynosa facility in May 2010.

By installing this new technology at our Michigan plant, we have enhanced our product profile in colour cosmetics manufacturing,” said Charles Chang, Topline president. “We will now be able to serve our customers more responsively and efficiently with the capacity to offer mascara and lip product launches in China or North America. The new installation also reinforces our overall strategy toward continued growth as a worldwide leader in cosmetics packaging.

Topline Michigan plant, formerly Motor City Plastics, was purchased by Topline in June 2010 and has been producing compacts and caps using injection moulding technology.
