Shiseido, will start selling its products in the Republic of Azerbaijan from December 2009. The opening of this new market is part of the Japanese cosmetics marker’s “Three-Year Plan (FY2008 – FY2010)”, which aims at expending the company’s operations in new and emerging markets.

Azerbaijan has achieved rapid economic development in recent years accompanied by significant growth in consumer purchasing power. Specifically, cosmetics needs have also diversified in conjunction with a rise in women’s awareness with regard to the “desire to be beautiful” and an increasing interest in prestige cosmetics,” said the cosmetics giant in a release.

Shiseido’s Three-Year Plan also includes inroads into the African continent (Egypt and Morocco).
