As the other leading Japanese cosmetics firms, including Kose, Kao and Kanebo Cosmetics, Shiseido has been strongly influenced by France and French culture. Additionally, France is the country in which Shiseido’s overseas prestige strategy was initiated in 1980 and has been constantly serving as Shiseido’s operation base in Europe since then.

To celebrate the 30th anniversary of its presence in France, Japan’s largest cosmetics firm will stage a three-week exhibition in Paris. Titled Urban Art Box, the event will feature 30 art works presented on photo panels, and will feature representative window displays that were previously showcased by Shiseido in-house designers at the company’s Ginza head office in Tokyo, as well as the work of six young French artists on the theme of "The Future of Shiseido."

The exhibition will be staged at the Hotel de l’Industrie, in the Saint-Germain des Prés district of Paris from September 22 to October 10. Its will be officially opened on September 23 by Shiseido President and CEO Shinzo Maeda.
