Leading French makers of natural cosmetics are dealing with a new ethical issue: animal testing. After Yves Rocher; it is time for Caudalie to receive the One Voice label, which guarantees that no animal was used at all stages of the product development, and which is reputed as being one of the most stringent.

Certification from One Voice is based on the standard established by the European Coalition to End Animal Experiments (ECEAE), One Voice being its representative in France. The One Voice certification “only covers full ranges, thus inducing a complete ethical approach,” explains the organisation on its website.

Actually, the most visible natural cosmetics brands are increasingly exposed to pressures from consumers and pubic interest groups, requiring them to extend the ethical commitments to other areas than the environment.

Other cosmetics companies to hold the One Voice label other big names of the natural cosmetics segment such as L’Occitane, Phyt’s, Sanoflore and Weleda.

For One Voice, getting the membership of internationally renowned brands, helps to increase its credibility and a key factor for the dissemination of its ethical principles.
