Ipekyolu and Platform Exhibitions, the organisers of BeautyEurasia, recently announced they will take “all necessary actions against BolognaFiere and SoGeCos for their illegal and unethical behaviour by breaching the two years non compete agreement signed between the parties.” This decision follows the confirmation by BolognaFiere, the owner of Cosmoprof tradeshows, regarding the launch of Cosmoprof Middle East Istanbul, in cooperation with İnterteks, one of the major organisers of commercial events in Turkey.

The first edition of this new event is to be held from 22 to 25 March 2012, at the Lütfi Kırdar - Rumeli Exhibition Center and at the new Istanbul Congress Center, which are adjacently located in the so-called “Congress Valley”, 5 minutes away from Taksim Place and walking distance to the most important hotels in Istanbul. The organisers expect to gather all the segments of the beauty industry (packaging, aesthetics, spas, medical, nails, hair, perfumery and cosmetics), as well as national pavilions, on a total surface of 20.000 sqm. “Istanbul, as a crucial hub and gate to the East, the Balkan countries and the Russian areas, has always been a centre for business and goods exchanges,” explains BolognaFiere.

However, Ipekyolu and Platform Exhibitions state their legal action “is likely to result in the cancellation of the new Cosmoprof event by court decision.

In the meantime, after two years of cooperation with BolognaFiere and SoGeCos, Ipekyolu and Platform Exhibitions will resume organizing BeautyEurasia on their own and the 8th edition of the event will take place in Istanbul’s leading exhibition venue Tuyap Exhibition Center from 14 to 16 June 2012.
