Presented by the World Packaging Organisation, the WorldStar Awards are the pre-eminent international awards in packaging.

US-based manufacturer of cosmetics packaging, Topline Products, in cooperation with L’Oréal USA, has won the WorldStar Award for Packaging Excellence in creating a chrome package for the L’Oréal Paris Infallible Lipcolour Vogue Limited Edition, a two-in-one lip product that innovatively houses two colour cosmetics products, side by side.

The airtight Topline package for L’Oréal Paris consists of a lip colour vial and a propel/repel slim-line tube, containing a conditioning topcoat, housed together in a sophisticated looking metallized shiny silver casing that also functions as a mirror for application.

The consumer first applies the lip colour, waits for it to dry, then applies the topcoat to seal in the colour and moisturize the lips for a longer lasting result. A number “1” and number “2” are debossed on the tops of the lip colour and topcoat respectively to readily indicate the order of usage. Because the two products are held together in the casing, they cannot be separated or lost.

The colour of the silkscreened plant graphics on the front of the casings, plus the colour of the cap and lip vial, match the shade of the product within, allowing customers to easily identify which shade they are choosing.
